    D’accord avec vous après plusieurs écoutes ça reste du solide mais j’avoue que je ne suis pas vraiment emballé. Que 10 tracks et l’impression que certaines sont inutiles. Pas mal d’émotions, c’est très chill au niveau des instrus, très profond et intimiste presque trop même on est parfois proche du slam/poésie. On sent qu’il a voulu privilégier le fond et le message mais j’avoue que j’aurais préféré un peu plus d’agressivité et d’énergie.
    J’accroche pas vraiment à presque la moitié de l’album (I wanna fold clothes for you vraiment??!) « Immortal » est lourde, « Change » et « Neighbors » sont réussies aussi. « Déja-vu » c’est ouf comment le hook fait direct penser à Tupac!! « 4 your eyez only » très très gros morceau la meilleure track à mes yeux un petit bijou comme Cole sait les faire c’est prenant et intense lyrics au top, storytelling captivant, flow limpide sur une instru parfaitement choisie. Mais bon ça sauve pas totalement l ‘album, déçu au final.
    Il reste qd même un de mes rappeurs favoris et je continue de penser que ce projet avec Kendrick est une bombe sur le papier.

    Bonne stratégie niveau com en tout cas, 2 bons sons énervés sur des instrus classiques en balançant sur les rappeurs les plus connus quelques jours avant la sortie de l’album, ça a eu le mérite de capter l’attention! Mais on en viendrait presque à les regretter ces sons en mode punchlines!

    Mouais… tout ça pour ça. Très très decevant. OK il rappe bien et raconte 2-3 truc bien mais ca suffit pas. Les prods c’est l’ennui total. On le compare beaucoup a Kendrick mais Kendrick a de meilleur gouts niveau prod ! Largement.

    J’étais franchement déçu après la première écoute mais au final j’apprécie cet album . Alors c’est sûr que y’a pratiquement aucun banger et que par moment le message qu’il veut faire passer est un peu générique , commun à beaucoup d’artistes .

    En tout cas il est toujours aussi fort en storytelling , 4 your Eyez Only est très ressemblant au sing about me de kendrick lamar , du moins je pense s’en inspire clairement en tout cas .
    Très introspectif comme d’habitude avec J.cole et c’est clairement son album le plus « personnel » dans le sens que il n’est pas à destination de ses fans mais plutôt pour sa femme , fille , son pote tué et la fille de son pote .

    Il risque de décevoir pas mal de monde avec cet album je pense mais bon moi j’ai bien apprécié . Par contre clairement j’espère que l’album J.Cole x Kendrick Lamar sortira un jour , si y’a bien un album qui peut contenir 2-3 bangers exceptionnel c’est celui ci …
