Kanye West & Just Blaze refocused hip-hop production on soul samples and became the go-to producers of this era.
Jay-Z finally found the Roc-A-Fella sound, more pop and accessible than Reasonable Doubt but also more modern and original, the Brooklyn rapper definitively took the New York’s crown by tackling his worst nemesis Nas, only facing Eminem who even stole the show on the iconic Renegade.
