It’s quite impossible to succeed to the iconic Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), and yet the highly anticipated Wu’s 2nd album managed to not disappointing after such a masterpiece.
The talent is often followed by the ego and the Wu-Tang MCs certainly had a bit too much of both to keep the cohesion that made them the best hip-hop band of all time.
After this project, the alchemy will slowly disappear, the leader RZA will be contested and the Wu-Tang Clan will look more like a sum of individualities than a team, the talented rappers will still shine on solo projects and from time to time on the group albums but nothing will be the same.
Wu-Tang Forever is the last vestige of what might have been this overwhelming crew of shaolin rhymers and one of the best double-albums of all time with Life After Death, All Eyez On Me, and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, the last great classic from the Wu-Tang Clan.
